Hi Folks!
Nothing too esoteric in this post, just an update and aย bit of news:
ITEM 1 –
I have just crossed the one third mark in the fundraiser for the print-run of the paperback (34.7% to be exact!). Yes, Illiom is that much closer to seeing the light of print! Now, by itself this would not be spectacular news, but please read on to…
ITEM 2 –
Some good friends of mine in Adelaide, Sandy Pulsford and Anna Mycho, have decided to support me with an interest-free-loan once I reach the 50% mark.
Hat-tip to Anna and Sandy!
This means that I still have to raise just $582.14 and then we’ll have a print-run and a bottle of bubbly!
ITEM 3 –
Probably the most exciting piece of news is that I am now about 250 pages into Illiom: Keys of Awakening. I am very happy with the progress and the content (they did say that the second book would be a lot easier…). So for those of you who are waiting for the sequel with bated breath, fear not: it is a happening thing.
STATS:
Since e-publishing Illiom on Amazon on 17 September 2012 I have
- sold a massive 47 ebooks
- given away 1,047 ebooks in Kindle promotions
- pre-sold 43 paperbacks
The Kindle promo has yielded nothing – as far as I can see – other than a single 4-star review. I will not be doing a KDP promo in the foreseeable future ๐
Thank you to all of you who have pre-ordered the paperback, without you I might be waiting another 5 years before I could do a print-run. Thank you to those of you who have supported me by purchasing either. I am touched by the support and encouragement I have received.
All in all it’s been (and still is) a steep learning curve and I’m enjoying the process of finding out what works, what doesn’t, as well as what I do and don’t want to do.
Bless you all till the next post,
Claudio

congratulations ๐ it seems to take most writers a good two years between volumes – if they don’t get distracted by writing another story altogether… so any advance on that will be the icing on the cake.

Thanks. I hate to keep people waiting but at the same time I don’t want to give anything less than my best. It’s a juggling act… Besides, I can’t wait to see what will happen myself. Even though – as you know – some of it is pre-determined, there’s a lot that was never there before I started writing. So I’m discovering stuff as I’m walking with them, which makes it real for me and brings it to life.
